The Colors of Compassion Society (The CoMPASS)

The Colors of Compassion Society (The CoMPASS) is an organization that draws inspiration from the kindness and support demonstrated by ethno-cultural communities towards immigrants, refugees and their fellow compatriots who have faced hardships, particularly during the pandemic. When the COVID-19 crisis reached its peak, services were disrupted, and many ethno-cultural communities experienced disconnection, isolation, job loss, and struggles to meet their daily needs. In response, ethno-cultural community organizations and leaders played a crucial role in bridging the gaps and addressing the community’s needs.

Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, these organizations and leaders utilized whatever resources were available to them, provided inspiration to their communities, established connections with service providers, and offered support to immigrants and newcomers. They showcased various colors of compassion by demonstrating empathy, understanding, and solidarity. Their actions emphasized the notion that those who are most affected by a social issue often possess valuable insights and can devise effective solutions.

The CoMPASS, an acronym embodying colors and compassion, signifies the organization’s dedication to finding appropriate pathways and compass towards achieving its vision. The Colors of Compassion Society seeks to cultivate a compassionate society, valuing diverse expressions of compassion and embracing varied perspectives to address social inequities effectively.
