Our Impact in Action: A Look Back
At Colors of Compassion, every activity is a step towards empowering families and Self Help Groups to flourish. We are proud to share highlights from our journey, showcasing the tangible ways our community has come together to spark real change and cultivate well-being.
In the past year, our efforts have included:
Capacity Building Workshops
Our volunteers have been instrumental in leading workshops focused on practical skills, financial literacy, and leadership training. These sessions empower members with the tools and knowledge they need to manage resources and drive positive change within their lives and groups. We also prioritize building our own internal capacity in programming, equity, and understanding the unique situations of Filipinos and immigrants in Calgary.

Behind the Scenes: Our Board and Staff in Action
Our Board and Staff Meetings are where the strategic direction and operational execution of Colors of Compassion converge. These regular sessions are crucial to maintaining momentum in our mission to cultivate spaces where families and Self Help Groups thrive. These meetings are more than just discussions; they are the engine driving our commitment to turning struggle into strength, and connection into lasting impact for the communities we serve.
In these meetings, we focus on:

Strategic Planning with MissionPH
In preparation for 2025, Colors of Compassion partnered with MissionPH to conduct a vital Strategic Planning session. The collaborative effort was expertly facilitated by Dr. Jun Naraval. This intensive planning allowed both organizations to collaboratively shape future initiatives, align goals, and strengthen their joint commitment to serving the community, ensuring a robust and impactful year ahead.

Kumustahan: Community Men's Gathering
On April 6, 2024, Colors of Compassion hosted “Kumustahan: Community Men’s Gathering,” a warm and inviting event where men connected over coffee and lunch. The heart of the gathering was “usapang buhay Canada, noon at ngayon” – conversations about life in Canada, both past and present. This casual yet meaningful discussion allowed participants to share their experiences, challenges, and triumphs, fostering a sense of community and shared understanding among Filipino men navigating life in a new land.
