Our Approaches

Strategy 1: Family

Where compassion grows

Family is at the heart of every immigrant’s journey—the reason they leave, and the future they dream of. But in Canada, survival jobs and double shifts often replace dinner tables and bedtime stories. The long hours, the cultural gaps, and the silence in between can leave families strained, disconnected, and on the edge of breaking.

The answer? Start with the family. When we help them build a vision, gain the tools to thrive, and navigate life in Calgary, we don’t just support them—we strengthen the very core of our society. It’s time to help families move beyond survival, and into a life where they truly thrive.

Strategy 2: Self-Help Groups

Circles of Strength

Self Help Groups are like chosen families—voluntary circles of 7 to 15 people, united by purpose and driven by the belief that change starts from within. They meet regularly to connect, launch small actions, and spark big impact—for themselves and their communities. At their core is a powerful idea: everyone has the potential to turn adversity into opportunity. And when individuals act together, they ignite both personal and collective empowerment.

Empowerment is transformative. It builds confidence, fuels action for the common good, drives economic growth, and shapes policies rooted in lived experience. As these groups grow, so does their reach. Members become leaders, new groups emerge, and the impact ripples outward—evolving from simple support to bold conversations on equity, health, income, and rights. The result? Scalable, unstoppable change.
